About Dr Tara Logan Buckley
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and a member of its clinical division. I received my undergraduate (B.A.Hons), Higher Diploma (H.Dip.Psych), and Masters degree (M.A. Applied Psych) from University College Cork and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Trinity College Dublin.
I have recently completed a postgraduate course in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in Boulder, Colorado, achieving the title of IPI Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider, being one of the first in Ireland to hold such a title. I worked extensively in private and public mental health and within forensic settings, offering formulation, assessment, and therapy (group and individual) to a broad range of clients presenting with a range of severe and complex psychological, behavioral, and emotional difficulties along with enduring mental health difficulties.
I work alongside the Veterans Evaluation Service providing assessment and diagnosis for US military Veterans in Europe. I have created webinars and workshops for various global corporate clients regarding mental health for employees and management, as well as content on Psychological First aid. I have been a guest speaker on various podcasts, radio and TV shows, workshops and conferences. I have presented my research on bariatric surgery and obesity both at a national and international level which is a key area of interest of mine.
I’m regularly featured across television, radio, podcasts, and print media, discussing a range of topics on platforms such as Ireland AM, 2fm, Newstalk, RTE, and others. I design, develop, and run corporate workshops in various areas, working with companies like Airbnb, Colgate, GiveLearn, Hitachi, Java Republic, and Websummit.
I’m extremely passionate about positive mental health, and well-being and helping people live fuller and more rewarding lives. I approach my work in a calm, non- judgemental manner and believe that no one approach to treatment and/or therapy fits all. Therefore, I use an integrated approach with the client being the centre. This enables me to tailor the treatment
plan to the client’s needs by combining elements from various styles of intervention. I endeavour to offer a supportive space for each client where I display compassion, understanding, and a shared human experience, which will enable the person seeking help to feel accepted, appreciated, and supported through their journey.
